PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capsule type endoscope system and the like, enabling a user to easily visually grasp the advancing direction and attitude indicated by an image taken by a compound-eye capsule type endoscope.SOLUTION: This capsule type endoscope system includes: a capsule type endoscope having first and second imaging units and an image display device for displaying an image taken by the first and second imaging units. The capsule type endoscope system includes: a control part 56 for determined the advancing direction of the capsule type endoscope in imaging and also specifying the imaging unit to which the advancing direction of the capsule type endoscope is pointed in imaging and a display control part 57 for generating a screen including a first display area where an image on the advancing direction side of the capsule type endoscope is arranged and a second display area where an image on the opposite side to the advancing direction is arranged.
