It is an object of the present invention to provide a skin cosmetic composition having antimicrobial properties and being safe to the human body without using parabens and an antibacterial agent for skin cosmetic. In order to achieve the above object, the present invention relates to a composition comprising (A) component which is one or two selected from hexyl glyceryl ether and cyclohexyl glyceryl ether, 1,2-propanediol and 1,3-propane diol (B) which is one kind or two kinds selected from the group consisting of citric acid, lactic acid, hydroxyethylethylenediamine triacetic acid, hydroxyethyliminodiacetic acid, dihydroxyethylglycine, gluconic acid, phytic acid, pentetoic acid, etidronic acid, tartaric acid and these (C) which is at least one member selected from the group consisting of gluconolactone, gluconolactone, and component (C), and at least one component selected from the group consisting of the component (A), the component (B) (C) as an antimicrobial agent for skin cosmetics.
