Described herein are nerve stimulating electrodes for use in evoked potential electrophysiological recording procedures and associated methods for use thereof. In one embodiment, a stimulating electrode assembly is provided that includes a non-conductive substrate, a first electrode mounted on the non-conductive substrate, and a second electrode mounted on the non-conductive substrate. The first and second electrodes are spaced apart along a longitudinal length of the assembly and extend along a lateral width of the assembly such that the electrode can be positioned at a plurality of laterally offsetting positions relative to a nerve extending longitudinally between the first and second electrodes while remaining in contact with the nerve.
