The present invention relates to a method of adversely affecting a biofilm, the method comprising exposing the biofilm to a composition comprising an effective amount of polymer that incorporates within its backbone structure a first polymerised residue of ethylenically unsaturated monomer, said first polymerised monomer residue comprising a covalently bound moiety that (i) presents pendant from the backbone structure, and (ii) comprises a cationic functional group or precursor functional group thereof.La présente invention concerne un procédé pour influencer négativement un biofilm, le procédé consistant à exposer le biofilm à une composition comprenant une quantité efficace de polymère qui incorpore, au sein de sa structure de chaîne principale, un premier résidu polymérisé d'un monomère éthyléniquement insaturé, ledit premier résidu de monomère polymérisé comprenant un fragment lié de manière covalente qui (i) se présente de manière pendante par rapport à la structure de chaîne principale et qui (ii) comprend un groupe fonctionnel cationique ou un groupe fonctionnel précurseur correspondant.
