Die Erfindung betrifft ein veterinärmedizinisches oder humanmedizinisches Wirbelsäulenimplantat zur Stabilisierung von Wirbelsäulensegmenten. 2.1 Bekannte Implantate dieser Art, die zur Stabilisierung von Wirbelsäulensegmenten zwischen die Dornfortsätze eingebracht werden, erfordern einen medialen Zugang und die Resektion des Dornspitzenbandes, was sich nachteilig auf den Bandapparat und die Wundheilung auswirken kann. 2.2 Das erfindungsgemäße Implantat besitzt einen Bügel, dessen freie Enden in Richtung der Dornfortsätze verlaufen. Die freien Enden sind mit Mitteln zur Anlage an den Dornfortsätzen versehen, wobei mindestens eines der Mittel als sattelförmige Auflage ausgebildet ist. Das Implantat ist in seiner Breite zur Implantation soweit reduzierbar, dass eine seitliche Implantation zwischen die Dornfortsätze ermöglicht wird ohne das Dornspitzenband zu zerstören.1.
