PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal fiber composite: capable of adjusting a metal fiber composite to any thickness since a fiber assembly formed of a metal fiber body is held by a porous shape holding member having excellent workability caused by good shape stability a thermal spray material such as a photocatalyst is capable of easily sticking to the surface of the metal fiber composite since the metal fiber composite includes the skin layer of a fixed body having a higher hardness than metal on the surface and having excellent corrosion resistance or durability since the fiber body or the shape holding member is hardly ionized even when contacted with moisture or used in water.SOLUTION: The metal fiber composite comprises: a fiber assembly formed by a metal fiber body a metal shape holding member having a plurality of pores covered on both flat planes of the fiber assembly and a spray coating including a metal compound having a photocatalyst function formed on external surfaces of the fiber assembly and the shape holding member.COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT【課題】金属製の繊維体で形成した繊維集合体が多孔性の保形部材で挟持されているので、金属繊維複合体を任意の厚みに調整でき、形状の安定性に優れるため加工性に優れるとともに、金属繊維複合体が表面に硬度が金属よりも高い不動体の表皮層を備えることで、光触媒等の溶射材料が表面に密着し易く、水分と接触した場合や水中で使用した場合にも繊維体や保形部材がイオン化し難いため、耐食性や耐久性に優れる金属繊維複合体を提供することを目的とする。【解決手段】金属製の繊維体で形成された繊維集合体と、前記繊維集合体の両平面に覆設された複数の孔部を有した金属製の保形部材と、前記繊維集合体及び前記保形部材の外表面に形成され光触媒機能を有する金属化合物を含む溶射皮膜と、を備える構成を有している。【選択図】図2
