PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interventional technique and an implant for redistributing force in articular joints to achieve a therapeutic effect.SOLUTION: Pathologies of joints arising from improper force distribution are addressed by displacement of targeted connective and muscle tissues surrounding the joints, which realigns force vectors and changes moment arms loading the joints. Embodiments of the present invention may be applied to substantially any joint, including but not limited to the knees and the hip joints.
