Provided are: a composition for promoting GLP-2 secretion； the use of a material for promoting GLP-2 secretion； and a method for promoting GLP-2 secretion. It was discovered that specific cyclic dipeptides or salts thereof have the effect of promoting GLP-2 secretion. The present invention provides effective and novel means that are useful for intestinal protection, intestinal inflammation prevention, intestinal mucosa proliferation, retention of intestinal mucosal barrier function, promotion of digestion and absorption, intestinal motility control, and the like.
