diabetic injectable nano-network gels a system for "smart" delivery of a therapeutic, prophylactic or diagnostic agent, such as a glucose-mediated insulin delivery, via an injectable nano-network consisting of nanoparticles of optically loaded dextran and encapsulating insulin and glucose-specific enzymes forming a gel-like 3d lattice structure. As shown by the examples, the system effectively disassociates to release insulin in a hyperglycemic condition, where catalytic conversion of glucose to glyconic acid and subsequent degradation of the polymeric matrix are facilitated.
