Embodiments of the present application relate generally to provisional orthopedic components, and more specifically relate to a trial system including a cam module and a trial femoral component that can be used during joint replacement surgery. The systems and methods of the present application aid a surgeon in the preparation of a patients bone to receive a permanent implant by providing a system that can be used to guide preparatory box cuts, and that can then be completed with a cam module without removal from the patients bone so that the same component can be used for the trialing process.
