PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seedling-winding assistant device free from the problem of the necessity to wind up a mat seedling in the form of a roll immediately after lodging the leaf of the seedling in order to wind the mat while keeping the lodged state of the leaf because, although a roll seedling having a small diameter can be formed by lodging the leaf of the mat seedling with a lodging means, the lodged leaf of the mat seedling tends to return to the upright state.

SOLUTION: The seedling-winding assistant device is provided with a traveling means 5 for traveling on a mat seedling 3, a roll seedling guiding means to guide the roll seedling formed by winding the mat seedling 3 in the form of a roll, and a lodging means 13 to lodge the leaf of the mat seedling before winding the mat by acting on the leaf before the roll seedling guiding means. The roll seedling guiding means is provided with a roll seedling guiding side plate 29 to guide the side face of the roll seedling and a roll seedling guiding front plate 19 to guide the front face of the roll seedling. The roll seedling guiding front face 19 is positioned slantly above and behind the lodging means 13 and has a slope inclined downward to the back.
