According to the invention there is provided a dressing for a wound, comprising:a hydrophobic layer capable of binding microorganisms, made of: a hydrophobic fabric or a hydrophobic non-woven fabric or a hydrophilic fabric or non-woven fabric which has been rendered hydrophobic due to treatment with a compound containing hydrophobic groups or a hydrophobic, perforated foil an absorbent hydrophilic layer and a cover layer, wherein the hydrophobic layer is bonded to the absorbent layer with an adhesive, and the absorbent layer is positioned between the hydrophobic layer and the cover layer.
