PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foreign matter capturing device having an improved structure, in which dropping-out of a capturing body from a shaft can be prevented by firmly fixing the capturing body to the shaft and a fixed portion can be also made flexible, and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: The foreign matter capturing device 10 includes the capturing body 14 attached to a distal end of the shaft 12, the capturing body including an expansion portion 24 expanded toward the tip side of the shaft 12. The capturing body 14 includes a cylindrical attachment portion 26 to be fitted and fixed onto the shaft 12, and the expansion portion 24 is integrally formed therewith so as to be expanded from the axial tip side of the attachment portion 26. The attachment portion 26 includes a through window 30, and a resin tube 24 is fitted onto the attachment portion 26 and melted and fixed to the shaft 12 through the through window 30.
