PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood component separating method, swelling a blood bag in centrifugal separation, and hardly causing mixing of red blood cells in plasma subjected to centrifugal separation.
SOLUTION: This blood component separating method is a method for separating and picking blood components from the blood stored in the blood bag using a blood component picking device 1 including the blood bag 105, a red blood cell keeping liquid filling bag 107 connected to the blood bag 105 and a blood component picking bag 106. This blood component separating method includes a centrifugal separation process of separating blood into plasma component 131 and a thick red blood cell component 132 in the state of inhibiting inflow air 130 from flowing out when blood is stored in the blood bag 105 an air transfer process of causing the air 130 in the blood bag 105 to flow into the red blood cell keeping liquid filling bag 107 and a process of picking the plasma component 131 separated in the blood bag 105 in a plasma picking bag 106.
