Such flush syringe assembly may include a barrel including a side wall defining a chamber, an open proximal end, a distal end having a distal wall with an elongate tip extending distally therefrom having a passageway therethrough in fluid communication with said chamber. A collar may 5 be mounted on the distal wall of the barrel and surrounding the elongate tip. A disinfectant-loaded swab may be disposed in the collar. The flush syringe assembly may also include a removable cap.
