The present invention relates to pharmaceutical preparations of gemcitabine-[phenyl-(benzoxy-L-alaninyl)]-phosphate, which is a monophosphate (monophosphate) derivative of the well-known tumor drug gemcitabine. In particular, the invention relates to formulations comprising a polar aprotic solvent, preferably dimethylacetamide (DMA). The formulation comprising the solvent provides a therapeutically effective treatment of gemcitabine-[phenyl-(benzyloxy-L-alaninyl)]-phosphate.
