The present invention relates to a composition for preventing hair loss or promoting hair growth containing isoalantolactone as an active ingredient. More specifically, provided is a cosmetic composition, a pharmaceutical composition, or a health food composition containing isoalantolactone showing hair loss prevention or hair growth promotion effects as an active ingredient. Isoalantolactone promotes growth of hair follicle dermal papilla cells in hair follicles via activation of -catenin through WNT signaling, and is highly applicable as a treatment agent for hair growth and hair loss.본 발명은 이소알란토락톤(Isoalantolactone)을 유효성분으로 함유하는 탈모 방지 또는 발모 촉진용 조성물에 관한 것으로서, 상세하게는 탈모 방지 또는 발모 촉진 효과를 나타내는 이소알란토락톤(Isoalantolactone)을 유효성분으로 함유하는 화장료 조성물, 약학 조성물 또는 건강식품 조성물을 제공한다. 본 발명은 이소알란토락톤(Isoalantolactone)이 WNT 신호 전달(signaling)을 통해 b-카테닌(catenin)을 활성화시켜 모낭의 모두유세포 성장을 촉진한다는 것을 확인하였으므로, 이를 이용한 발모 및 탈모 치료제로서 활용가능성이 클 것으로 예상된다.
