The present invention provides methods for treating cancer in a subject, as well as related compositions and kits that employ a therapeutic agent, or a nucleic acid sequence encoding a therapeutic agent, selected from apolipoprotein A-1 (ApoA1) or biologically active fragment, an ApoA1 mimetic, an agent that increases expression of ApoA1, or a binding agent specific for oxidized ApoA1.
