A super elastic alloy containing: as essential additive elements, Au of 8.0 mass% or more and 20.0 mass% or less, at least either of Cr and Mo; Ta as an optional additive element; and the balance being Ti and inevitable impurities, wherein an equivalent amount of Cr calculated based on a following formula in terms of a relationship among contents of Cr, Mo and Ta is within the range of more than 5.0 and less than 8.0. The alloy is a Ni-free super elastic alloy, which has a good X-ray imaging property.
