The present invention relates to a method for producing platelets from mature megakaryocytes. More particularly, the invention relates to an ex vivo method for producing platelets, from mature megakaryocytes, said method comprising a step of subjecting a suspension of mature megakaryocytes to a flow having a minimal shear rate of 600 s&minus1 on a solid phase coated with Von Willebrand factor.
