[Problem to be Solved]To provide a guide wire having a sufficient flexibility, and capable of suppressing a shifting of a bending point from a distal side to a proximal side even when the guide wire collides with a lesion part.[Solution]A guide wire 10 comprises a shaft 12 and a first coil body 20 wound around a distal portion of the shaft 12. The first coil body 20 is formed by helically twisting a twisted wire 22 which is formed by twisting a plurality of single strands 21 together, and a joint portion 35 disposed in a intermediate part of the first coil body 20 and impregnated into the twisted wire 22 of the first coil body 20 without contacting the shaft 12, so as to join adjoining turns of the twisted wire 22 with each other.
