PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bathing apparatus which eliminates the need for a care giver to give attention to the amount of hot water in a bathtub after bathing a care receiver, and which eliminates the need for the care giver to perform hot water supply operation manually when the care giver bathes one care receiver after another.SOLUTION: A bathing apparatus 1 includes: a bathtub 4 and a base 6 which is provided inside the bathtub for supporting a stretcher 2 on which a care receiver lies. In the bathing apparatus, the care receiver is bathed by lifting and lowering at least one of the bathtub and the base with respect to the other in such a state that the stretcher is supported by the base. The bathtub is provided with an overflow opening 4d for discharging overflowing bathing hot water to the outside of the bathing apparatus and a proper water level sensor 24 for detecting a proper water level for bathing. When a bathing hot water level in the bathtub falls below the proper water level for bathing which is detected by the proper water level sensor at least by the overflow of bathing hot water through the overflow opening, hot water is automatically supplied into the bathtub until the prober water level for bathing is reached.
