"Amyloid binding compounds, pharmaceutical composition and compound synthesis methods, in vivo detection of amyloid deposits in an individual and in human or animal tissue, quantification of amyloid deposition in biopsy or postmortem tissue and brain distinction of alzheimer's disease of a normal brain ". This invention relates to novel thioflavin derivatives, methods of using the derivatives, for example in vivo imaging of patients with neuritic plaques, pharmaceutical compositions comprising the thioflavin derivatives and method of synthesizing the compounds.
