There is provided a wound healing composition which comprises at least oneoxidant, at least one photoactivatorcapable of actuating the oxidant and at least one healing factor chosen fromhyaluronic acid, glucosamine and allantoin inassocia-tion with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. In addition, a methodof topically treating wounds using at least one oxidant andat least one photoactivator capable of activating the oxidant followed byillumination of said photosensitizer is disclosed.
