Rice FOX arabidopsis strains exhibiting resistance to both Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato and a crucifer anthracnose fungus were infected with rhizoctonia, and strains exhibiting resistance to rhizoctonia in addition to Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato and the crucifer anthracnose fungus were selected. It was found that the selected strains over-expressed the gene <;u>;OsPSR1<;/u>;. Then, a new strain of rice was created that overexpresses <;u>;OsPSR1<;/u>;. It was ascertained that the resulting rice exhibited resistance to rhizoctonia.
