PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for regenerating a connective tissue in a mammalian host, the composition comprising a primed connective tissue cells and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier thereof.SOLUTION: The composition is an injectable composition that comprises a primed connective tissue cells obtained by a two-dimensional monolayer culture and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier thereof. In the composition, the cells are fibroblasts or chondrocytes, and the cells are human cells. The composition is a mixture cell composition comprising, in an amount effective to regenerate hyaline cartilage, (a) a first group of primed chondrocytes or fibroblasts, (b) a second group of chondrocytes or fibroblasts transfected or transduced with a gene coding for a member of TGF-β super family, and (c) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier thereof.
