PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective technique for accurately recognizing skin characteristics on the basis of the relation of a sebum amount and a pore condition and enabling ordinary people to easily and accurately enjoy advice or the like in the field of advice and counseling for the selection of cosmetics or the like.SOLUTION: In the map of the skin characteristics and the method for displaying the skin characteristics, values indicating the sebum amount and pore condition of the face part of a person are obtained by measurement beforehand by age and/or by sex, the extent of characteristics is displayed as a map beforehand for respective categorized ages by plots or probability ellipses decided by the value indicating the sebum amount and the value indicating the size of pores for the respective representative categorized ages on a coordinate surface constituted of two axes which are an axis indicating the sebum amount and an axis indicating the size of pores, and the measured value or the like of a person to be judged is displayed further.
