PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly fishing rod having a cushion material on which an elbow of an angler is placed or that is applied to the lower half body, at a base end side of the rod and, even when a type of a reel or an angler using the rod is changed, capable of setting the cushion material at an optimal position.SOLUTION: A fishing rod 1 includes: a rod 3 a reel seat 4 for fixing a reel 2 for sending and winding a fishing line, to the rod 3 and a fitting recess 51 detachably fitted to the base end of the rod 3.
