The hair treatment composition comprises at least 0.5% by weight of at least one amino acid or aminosulphonic acid and / or salt thereof and optionally at least 0.5% by weight of at least one non-polymeric mono, diester. Alternatively, it contains a tricarboxylic acid and / or a salt thereof. Additional ingredients such as surfactants and water may also be included.
