PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a probe advantageous to diameter reduction and improvement in manufacturing easiness, and a method for manufacturing the probe.SOLUTION: The probe includes an optical fiber bundle 15, and optical filters 13, 14 installed at one end face of the optical fiber bundle. Partial optical fibers constituting the optical fiber bundle, constitute a first optical fiber system 10 for guiding excitation light, and other partial optical fibers constituting the optical fiber bundle, constitute a second optical fiber system 12 for receiving and guiding measurement light. The manufacturing method includes distributing and separating optical fibers into the first optical fiber system and the second optical fiber system by identifying the optical fibers by the presence/absence or difference of light emitted from the respective optical fibers at the other end face 33 when light is incident to one end face 32 after the installation of the filters. The probe can thereby be easily manufactured without being influenced by the arrangement accuracy of optical fibers, and the forming and installation accuracy of the optical filters.
