REPLACEMENT SHEET ABSTRACT Apparatus is provided, including an implantable mechanical support (26), shaped to support a pornion of a urethra of a panient. One or more electrodes (28) are coupled to the mechanical support (2 6), so as to contact tissue of the patient when the mechanical support (26) is implanted in the patient. A control unit (22) drives the electrodes (2 8} no apply a current to the tissue. A method for treating a patlent is also provided, including implant ing a mechanical support (28) in a position that supports a urethra of a patient. In response to increased pelvic pressure of the patient, a substance stored in a portion of the mechanical support (26) that is not under the urethra is moved to a portion of the mechanical support (26) that is under the urethra.
