Aerating device (1) for a ground, comprising: - a frame (16)； - moving means (11) arranged on the frame (16) for the purpose of moving the aerating device (1) in a direction of movement over a ground surface for working； - a drive (14)； - a rotor shaft (2) provided with a plurality of knives (22), wherein the rotor shaft (2) is arranged bearing-mounted between the frame (16) and the drive (14), wherein the rotor shaft (2) is operatively coupled to the drive (14) for the purpose of rotating the rotor shaft (2), wherein the knives (22) are inserted successively into the ground surface, wherein during uncoupling of the rotor shaft (2) and the drive (14) the rotor shaft (2) is movable in a direction away from the drive (14) such that the rotor shaft (2) lies at a distance from the drive (14).
