The invention relates to medicine, in particular to functional diagnostics and cardiology. A method for determination of mechanism of cardiovascular system adaptation to physical activity or psycho-emotional stress provides for ECG monitoring in first lead for no less than 20 cardiocycles in a successive order at 3 states such as rest, maximum load and after termination of restitution period. Thereafter average cardiac rate and 10 quantitative amplitude-time ECG parameters are calculated, such as Q, R, S and T electrocardiographic waves, duration of Q wave, QRS complex, PQ and QT intervals, R/S amplitude ratio, T wave symmetry. Those parameters are standardized to cardiac rate, and ratio thereof for such states as &ldquomaximum load/rest&rdquo and &ldquorestitution/maximum load&rdquo is determined. Then the mechanism of cardiovascular system adaptation to physical or psychoemotional activity is determined on the basis of degree of activation of different mechanisms. The conclusion is made according to three-value rule, the adaptation mechanism is chronotropic-dromotropic when average activation degree of dromotropic mechanism exceeds the activation degree for inotropic mechanism of the given level, the adaptation mechanism is chronotropic-inotropic when for given level of activation the average activation degree of inotropic mechanism exceeds the activation degree for dromotropic mechanism no less than by 0.2, or the adaptation mechanism is chronotropic-inotropic-dromotropic, when for given level of activation the average activation degree of inotropic mechanism exceeds the activation degree for dromotropic mechanism less than by 0.2.Винахід належить до галузі медицини і стосується функціональної діагностики та кардіології, а саме способу визначення механізму адаптації серцево-судинної системи до фізичного чи психоемоційного навантаження.
