PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas decomposition element for quickly decomposing various malodor with a superior energy efficiency.
SOLUTION: The gas decomposition element includes an oxidizing side catalyst electrode 6 containing catalyst particles 11, a counter electrode 7 pairing with the catalyst electrode, and an electrolyte 11 sandwiched between the catalyst electrode and counter electrode. The electrolyte is a non-aqueous electrolyte, and decomposes and eliminates malodor such as acetaldehyde, formaldehyde, ethanol, methanol, benzene, or toluene.
