An electric motor (1) and drive arrangement (3) for a furniture device (5), which electric motor comprises a stator (10) and a rotor (12) adapted to be set into rotation in relation to the stator. The motor further comprises an elongated motor shaft (14) comprising a first end part (30) and a second end part (32) fixedly joined to the rotor so that the first end part, the second end part and the rotor rotate with said same speed, and a cover (36) enclosing the stator and the rotor. The cover comprises a first opening (38) through which the first end part of the shaft extends in a first direction and a second opening (40) through which the second end part of the motor shaft extends in a second direction. The second direction is opposite to the first direction.
