ABSTRACT Novel Schiff s bases are prepared by condensation of Aloin(10-glucopyranosyl-1,8 dihydroxy-3(hydroxy methyI)- 9,(10H)-anthracenone) from aloe vera, with naturally occurring amino acids and their corresponding aglycones are synthesized by oxidative hydrolysis. The bioactive character of the Schiff s bases are evaluated by DPPH radical scavenging and cytotoxic activity. The bioactive potential for both glycosylated and deglycosylated Schiff s bases are compared
