PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side discharge mower capable of freely adjusting the release direction of mowed grass by a worker fitting to the state of the mowed grass.SOLUTION: The side discharge mower includes a release direction changing member 70 for the mowed grass on a middle part in a lateral direction of a ceiling part 24a of a discharge cover 24, and includes a position change mechanism crossing in the release direction of the mowed grass from a mowed grass discharge port 23, arranged on a portion of the discharge cover 24 at a mower deck 21 side of the release direction changing member 70 and vertically rockably mounted around a lateral axis. The position change mechanism changes the position of the release direction changing member 70 to an inoperative position along the ceiling part 24a of the discharge cover 24 and to an operative position laterally, outwardly, obliquely and downwardly directed from the ceiling part 24a of the discharge cover 24.
