An unloading conveyor arrangement (30) for an agricultural machine (10) includes a conveyor (32) having a discharge end (38), and a spout (40) at the discharge end (38) of the conveyor (32). A range for the position of the spout (40) is determined from one or more factors such as topography and the physical characteristics of the material being handled through the conveyor (32). The actual position of the spout (40) is ascertained and a warning or an adjustment is made if the actual position is not within the range.
