摘要:
604137 A humidifier for a respiratory apparatus for delivering a humidified flow of breathable gas to a patient. The humidifier is controlled to vary the duty ratio of a heater and has two distinct threshold temperatures: start-up, first threshold, normal operation, second threshold, cut-off. The humidifier has the following technical features: a heating element; a tub to store a supply of water to humidify, a sensor to detect the temperature of the first heating element and a controller configured to receive signals from the sensor. The tub has a heat conducting base which thermally engages with the heating element to heat the supply of water in use. The controller adjustably controls a duty ratio of the heating element according to the following conditions: if the temperature of the heating element is below a first threshold a first duty ratio is applied to the first heating element; or if the temperature of the first heating element is above the first threshold and below a second threshold a second duty ratio is applied to the first heating element; or if the temperature of the first heating element is above the second threshold the first heating element is turned off.
