A bistable tubular (24) is formed with a number of cells (23) having a thin strut (21) connected to a thicker strut (22). The struts (21, 22) may be pivotally connected by use of pin joint or a ball and socket joint. Various locking mechanisms (Figs 35A-35D, 36A-36D, 37, 38A-41B) are disclosed and are used to keep the cells (23) in the expanded position. One such locking mechanism includes a ratchet post (264) which makes interfering engagement with a corresponding post (260) and prevents contraction of the tubular (24).En ekspanderbar anordning omfatter et flertall av ekspanderbare celler.
