12m73 89n10111213144625p15710121589q3111413An insecticidal composition is provided the composition comprising: a) an insecticidally effective amount of one or more compound having the general formula (I) in which: R is alkyl halogen or CN; R is 4 5 dicyanoimidazol 2 yl haloalkyl or S(O)R; R is hydrogen halogen NRR S(O)R C(O) R alkyl haloalkyl OR or N=CRR; R and R each independently represent hydrogen halogen haloalkyl CN or NO; R is hydrogen halogen haloalkyl haloalkoxy or S(O)R; R R R and R each independently represent alkyl or haloalkyl; R and R each independently represent hydrogen alkyl alkenyl haloalkyl alkoxycarbonyl or S(O)CF; R and R each independently represent hydrogen or alkyl; R is phenyl optionally substituted by one or more halogen atoms or a member selected from OH alkyl alkoxy and cyano; and m n p and q independently represent 0 1 or 2; and b) at least one nitrogen based fertilizer. The nitrogen based fertilizer reduces the phytotoxic effects of the compound of general formula (I) on the target plants. There is further provided a method of treating plants at a locus comprising applying to the locus a compound of the general formula (I) and a nitrogen based fertilizer.
