PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for forming a medical coating which contains a biocompatible polymer having excellent biocompatibility, does not interact with living components, such as proteins, hemocytes of the like and is used for the development of next-generation advanced medical instruments or artificial organs, and also to provide a medical material having a coating made of the biocompatible polyer.
SOLUTION: The resin composition for forming a medical coating contains a biocompatible polymer made by polymerizing a monomer composition containing 1-100 wt.% N-methacryloyloxyethyl-N, N-dimethylammonium-&alpha-N-methylcarboxybetaine shown by Formula (I) and 0-99 wt.% biocompatible polymeric monomer which is an alkene compound with a double bond and an organic group. The medical material has a coating made of the biocompatible polymer.
