The present invention provides a compound comprising a contrast component for imaging a subject. The invention also relates to systems, compositions, and methods for the synthesis and use of contrast agents or precursors thereof. The contrast agent precursor can be converted to a contrast agent using the methods described herein. In some cases, the composition or contrast agents are enriched in 18F.
