PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve maintainability for a gradient magnetic field coil while preventing noise due to vibrations of the gradient magnetic field coil.SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus of an embodiment includes a static magnetic field magnet, a gradient magnetic field coil, a bore tube, and sealed space-forming parts. The static magnetic field magnet is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape and generates a static magnetic field in the space inside the cylinder. The gradient magnetic field coil is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape, is disposed inside the cylinder of the static magnetic field magnet, and applies a gradient magnetic field on the static magnetic field. The bore tube is formed in a substantially cylindrical shape and is disposed inside the cylinder of the gradient magnetic field coil. The sealed space forming parts form sealed spaces that surround the gradient magnetic field coil between the inner circumference of the static magnetic field magnet and the outer circumference of the bore tube. At least one portion of at least one edge of the gradient magnetic field coil is not in contact with the sealed spaces.【課題】傾斜磁場コイルの振動による騒音を防ぎつつ、傾斜磁場コイルに対する保守性を高める。【解決手段】実施形態の磁気共鳴イメージング装置は、静磁場磁石と、傾斜磁場コイルと、ボアチューブと、密閉空間形成部とを備える。静磁場磁石は、概略円筒状に形成され、円筒内の空間に静磁場を発生させる。傾斜磁場コイルは、概略円筒状に形成され、前記静磁場磁石の円筒内に配置されて前記静磁場に傾斜磁場を付加する。ボアチューブは、概略円筒状に形成され、前記傾斜磁場コイルの円筒内に配置される。密閉空間形成部は、前記静磁場磁石の内周側と前記ボアチューブの外周側との間に前記傾斜磁場コイルを包囲する密閉空間を形成する。そして、前記傾斜磁場コイルの少なくとも一方の側端の少なくとも一部が、前記密閉空間に接触していない。【選択図】図1
