PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surgical resection blade of a flexible shaft having high reliability, so that only a single surgical resection blade is used.SOLUTION: A surgical instrument 1 comprises: a hollow cylindrical member 2 having a flexible area 3 along at least a part of the hollow cylindrical member and a malleable tube 3 disposed on at least an outside face of the flexible area of the hollow cylindrical member. The flexible area and the malleable tube disposed on the flexible area can be bent multi times. The malleable tube can maintain a bending direction, until it is bent again. The surgical instrument further comprises a coupling part for preventing the malleable tube from moving toward a longitudinal axial direction relative to the hollow cylindrical member.
