A method of forming a blended polymeric material for an implantable medical device, said method, comprising selecting a predetennined drug loading capacity for an implantable medical device; selecting a first polymeric material having a first hardness; selecting a second polymeric material having a second hardness different from the first hardness; and blending the first polymeric material with the second polymeric material to obtain a blended polymeric material having the selected predetermined drug loading capacity.
