Pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting teratoma formation or growth containing TIMP-1 or TIMP-2 as an active ingredient according to the present invention is the formation and growth of teratoma caused by pluripotent stem cells during stem cell treatment It does not affect the differentiation ability while inhibiting, it is useful as a combination therapy of stem cell therapy.본 발명은 TIMP-1 (tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 1) 또는 TIMP-2 (tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 2)를 유효성분으로 함유하는 기형종 형성 또는 성장 억제용 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 TIMP-1 또는 TIMP-2를 유효성분으로 함유하는 기형종 형성 또는 성장 억제용 약학 조성물은 줄기세포 치료시 미분화 만능줄기세포 (pluripotent stem cells)에 의해 발생하는 기형종의 형성 및 성장을 억제하면서도 분화능에는 영향을 미치지 않으므로, 줄기세포 치료제의 병용치료제로 유용하다.
