The medical device also includes a control wire (22) running alongside the elongated device body (12) and being unrestrained at the steerable portion (14) such that tensioning of the control wire (22) angles the steerable portion (14) from a longitudinal axis of the elongated device body (12) and deflects the control wire (22) away from the steerable portion (14).
