A feedback-based metasensing system, means, and apparatus is proposed for datavisualization, data entry, visual art, sensing, or the like. In oneembodiment, theinvention comprises an implement that may be swept through a space to makevisiblea phenomenon that is affected by the act of sweeping the implement through thespace. For example, the implement may cause changes in a surveillance camerainthe space, and these changes in the surveillance camera may in-turn affect thecolor orintensity of light emitted from the implement. In some embodiments theimplementconsists of an array of light sources, so that sweeping the implement throughthespace makes visible the otherwise invisible sightfield of the surveillancecamera. Otherembodiments are useful for studying or visualizing other phenomenology, especiallymetaphenomenology (e.g. to sense sensing) as well as for simply creatingvisual art.
