A system and method for automatically delivering a substance to an animal or fish includes a positioning system for individually placing each animal and a sensor for detecting the location of a predetermined object area of the animal. The system further includes a transfer mechanism for transferring material to the target area. The position of the delivery device can be adjusted. The transmitter communicates with the sensor.
